Hello! I'm a Research Fellow in the Department of Epidemiology and Applied Clinical Research at University College London. Under the supervision of Professor David Osborn, my research involves the analysis of electronic patient health records to explore outcomes in people who access secondary mental health services in the London boroughs of Camden and Islington. As part of my work, I manage and administer the Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust's Clinical Record Interactive Search (CRIS) research database. This work also involves developing linkages with other datasets and the application of natural language processing techniques to analyse clinical free text. Lately, I have also been examining substance-related disorders and comorbid psychiatric conditions, including depression and severe mental illness, utilising real-world patient data through the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD).
My doctoral research was conducted under the supervision of Professor Carol Brayne and Dr. Andres Roman-Urrestarazu at the University of Cambridge. My dissertation elucidated the social and economic epidemiology of substance use disorders and their treatment through the analysis of administrative and routinely collected data, namely, the National Survey for Drug Use and Health, the Treatment Episode Data Set, and the National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services.
